Orchid Island Club 5K Run Raises $3800 for CHS

Approximately 50 runners and walkers from Vero Beach’s Orchid Island neighborhood took part in a 5K Run on April 10 to raise money for Children’s Home Society of Florida’s Youth Transition Center www.youthtransitioncentertc.com. Thank you Orchid Island!

Congratulations Croom Dodgers!

The Vero Beach National Little League Croom Dodgers celebrated their 15-14 win over the Senior Resource Association Codgers, Saturday, April 24, at Dodgertown. Dodger pitcher, Steven Croom, kept the Codgers scoreless in the sixth and final inning. “It felt really good,” Croom said of beating the Codgers. “If we lost to a bunch of old guys, it’d be embarrassing.”
All proceeds from the game support the Senior Resource Association programs.

Tumba La Casa helps raise the roof for Children’s Home Society

Following on the footsteps of its Indianthemed Under a Brocade Sky fundraiser this past February, Children’s Home Society continued the international flair, taking guests this time on a trip to Guatemala with Tumba La Casa. The lush grounds and greenhouses of Rock City Gardens were an ideal setting for the event, and organizers had decorated inside and out with bright floral colors to compliment Mother Nature’s own.
